Mayfield Road Water Outage will be Thursday, Jan. 18th, 2018

Mayfield Road residents, from Valley Drive west to its dead-end point, will experience a water outage from 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 until 2 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19.

The water outage is needed to allow crews with A-Mountain Construction, a limited liability company, to connect lines to the existing water main.

Adjacent areas could also be affected by the outage. If water on affected streets is going to be turned off, city crews will post a door hanger notice a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

When water service is restored, residents may notice discolored water because of iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, residents are advised to wait until the water clears before washing laundry.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, all faucets in the house should be flushed for five minutes. If the discoloration persists, call the City, at 575/526-0500, for assistance. People who are hearing impaired can call 575/541-2182.
